Our client is a fast-growing scale-up that publishes a CRM suite (SaaS) for SMEs.
Responsibilities
As part of a 30-strong technical team, your role will be to help the company bring value to its customers with the best quality, as quickly as possible and at the lowest cost.
As manager of a team of developers/leads, you will set clear objectives and help the team to succeed through empowerment and coaching. You will act as a manager, technical mentor and individual coach to support the development of each team member.
Your role will focus on the following three areas:
1- Management :
- Supervision of your team members (2 feature teams of 5 people each), setting clear objectives and giving them a sense of responsibility,
- Operational relay for the Head of Engineering on all HR issues, management (weekly OnetoOne...), coaching, appraisal, training, career planning,
- Team leadership: rituals, prioritization, delivery, reviews, tech design, etc,
- Work with engineers to develop their technical, interpersonal and leadership skills and ensure they have the right challenges and context to use them,
- Participation in the development of best practices,
- Recruitment of future team members.
2 - Technical lead :
- Define and support the technical vision with the second Engineering Manager and the Head of Engineering,
- Relay and explain the product & business vision, and help the team gain height,
- Support your team in creating a software solution from start to finish (architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, support),
- Ensure that all projects allocated to your teams are on time and/or on budget to create a clear and efficient roadmap,
- Help your team maintain a robust, scalable architecture,
- Work to continuously improve the team's quality standards and enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of your employees,
- Bring your experience to bear to ensure that nothing is overlooked and that risks are identified and highlighted,
- Promote effective communication between teams, in particular by helping your employees to work with other company teams (Product...).
3 - Individual contribution :
- Stay hands-on,
- Evolve in today's technical stack: PHP, Symfony, Vue.js, MariaDB, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker...
Profile required
You have a 5-year higher education qualification, such as an engineering school or equivalent university.
You have at least 5 years' professional experience in Software Engineering, which has enabled you to move into a management role (for at least two years). Both a technical mentor and a coach, you are able to provide constructive feedback on your teams' performance and help your colleagues to grow.
Today, you have established your legitimacy with teams thanks to both your technical credibility (particularly in PHP development) and your management skills. You also have a passion for engineering practices and a proven track record in change management. A very good knowledge of Agile development practices is also required.
